Before that he lived and worked in Germany for over 10 years. James is easy going and likes to make his students feel at ease behind the wheel. Outside his job as a professional driving instructor, James teaches Karate Martial Arts to all age groups. Vidya has been a driving instructor with A1 for over 5 years. Vidya is originally Fijian Indian, with a background as a secondary teacher for 12 years and an ESOL tutor at the University in Fiji. He moved to New Zealand in 1987, and set up his own business, which he successfully ran for 12 years. He then worked as a sales consultant for Barfoot and Thompson in Meadowbank. Vidya has been a Rotarian for over 25 years in Auckland, where he became President and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow three times for his participation in major funding and charities both in New Zealand and the Pacific. He is a family man, who enjoys spending time with his family. Tony has been a driving instructor with A1 for over 5 years. He came to New Zealand from the UK in 2004. He served in the Royal Navy for 22 years and trained in instructional techniques. Tony has over 50 years of driving experience and has been a facilitator for Street Talk Defensive Driving courses. He joined A1 Driving School as he has a personal interest in helping people become safe drivers through professional tuition. Tony is a family man who loves to spend time outdoors.
